Our Utrecht site focuses on the manufacturing of recombinant proteins and antibodies, and we’re expanding its capabilities. We’re seeking a skilled Research Technician with a background in molecular biology and an affinity for process automation.

Key responsibilities shall include:
You will work in an exciting and dynamic environment. As Research Technician Molecular Biology, you will become member of our USP lab-team that creates transfection-grade plasmid DNA. In the first few months of your employment, you will work together with an experienced team-member to receive training and gain knowledge in the methods used at our facility. Soon after, you will be skilled to execute the procedures independently. In your role as Research Technician Molecular Biology, you will be encouraged to identify and discuss process upgrades at the DNA lab or the site as a whole that will result in a better outcome for our clients!
Requirements:
- A BSc or MSc degree in Life Sciences
- Experience in molecular biology techniques like synthetic gene design, standard DNA cloning, restriction independent DNA cloning, PCR, DNA purification, sequence analysis
- Affinity with and experience in process automation
- Experience in protein purification techniques or eagerness to learn
- Accurately document your experiments in lab journals and LIMS systems
- Excellent personal skills to work both independently and in a larger team
- Having a strong eye for detail while maintaining a clear focus on the overall project scope
- Speaking the Dutch language or willingness to learn
